Sujet du postdoc :
- Mesure et Modélisation mécanique des polymères vitreux dans le régime de leur transition vitreuse.
- Measuring and modeling the mechanics of bulk glassy polymer within the glass transition domain
Thématique de recherche :
- The project will consist in modeling the linear and non linear mechanical behavior of a glassy polymer in the glass transition domain. Modeling the mechanics in the crossover between molten and glassy polymer has the advantage of being drastically sensitive to the mechanical heterogeneities : varying the temperature, we can with sweep the whole time relaxation distribution.
- At the experimental point of view, there is one difficulty in that domain ; the measurements are very sensitive to temperature, and the mechanical solicitation itself leads to self-heating. Thus it is necessary to characterize very precisely the temperature in this regime. We have just overcome this difficulty, setting up a IR camera in our mechanical measurement device.
- At the computational point of view, we have already implemented the heterogeneities expected from polymer physics in a finite element code. As preliminary results we already recover the modification of the mechanical effect under confinement in the linear regime.
Compétences requises :
- Le(la) candidat(e) devra être titulaire d’un doctorat.
