This position is funded by PSL Research University. The successful applicant will work with Elisabeth Bouchaud (ESPCI) and Laurent Ponson (Institut d’Alembert), and collaborate with Pierre Le Doussal and Kay Wiese (LPTENS).
Sujet du postdoc :
The candidate is expected to carry out an experimental investigation of the failure properties of disordered materials. The aim is to improve our understanding of avalanche processes in fracture. It includes a collaboration with theorists at LPTENS.
Compétences requises :
A strong background in statistical physics would be appreciated. Applicants with a background in material science or mechanics, as well as theorists strongly motivated by carrying out experiments, are also encouraged to apply.
